Testing KUBIK in the game-preserve of the Arkhangelsk Region

On August 9, we installed two KUBIK cameras for testing in one of the game-preserves of the Arkhangelsk Region: Les1 and Corm1.

The camera with the identifier Les1 is set on a forest trail, the camera Corm1 is on a feeding ground.

Connection at the installation site is not very good, especially at the Les1 installation site. However, the cameras operate with standard antennas and are not connected to external power supplies.

KUBIKs are operating in SMS + Yandex Disk mode. It means that you get notifications about camera triggering to your smartphone and photos are sent to Yandex Disk (this mode is the best for places where the connection is poor). Access to Yandex Disk was given to all interested people (the director, hunting experts).

By August 20, we received 292 photos from the Corm1 camera. By August 27, the number increased to 462! It’s worth mentioning that KUBIK sends full-size photos 1600*1200 even when the connection is poor! As a result, 535 photos were sent from the camera Corm1 with one set of batteries.

As a result of testing, a number of changes were made in the camera firmware. The main one is the improvement in the brightness of IR illumination. We remind you that the KUBIK camera can automatically update. The latest firmware version is 1.0.44.
